Regular Season Round 5: Las Animas - Tinguiririca S.F. 83-73

Everything could happen in Valdivia at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Las Animas and 12th ranked Tinguiririca S.F. had identical 1-2 record. This time Las Animas used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from San Fernando 83-73 on Saturday night. Tinguiririca S.F. was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 32-19 charge of Las Animas, which allowed them to win the game. American center Terrell Taylor (203-81, college: Virginia Tech, agency: DTMones) nailed a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Terrance Thomas (198-80, college: Baylor, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Gianncarlo Caraboni came up with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Venezuelan forward Luis Valera (202-88, college: UTRGV, agency: Duran International) added 19 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Tinguiririca S.F. in the defeat. Four Tinguiririca S.F. players scored in double figures. Las Animas (2-2) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Tinguiririca S.F. lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with three games lost. They share it with Puente Alto and Los Leones. Las Animas will meet at home Espanol de Talca (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Tinguiririca S.F. will play against Universidad de Concepcion and hope to win that game.
