Regular Season Round 3: Killester - DCU Saints 83-59

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Dublin: Killester (#7) and DCU Saints (#9). Killester (2-1) crushed visiting DCU Saints (0-3) by 24 points 83-59. Killester made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 30 DCU Saints turnovers. Strangely DCU Saints outrebounded Killester 46-30 including a 20-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Patrick Sullivan (201, college: Hamilton) who scored 20 points. Naturalized American forward Jermaine Turner (195-74, college: Dowling) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was international center Martins Provizors (202-87) who recorded a double-double by scoring 27 points and 16 rebounds and Latvian forward Arkadijs Makarenko (185) added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Killester will face Belfast Star (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. DCU Saints' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Dublin Eanna.
