Regular Season Round 4: Angers - Arras 71-60
Date: October 17, 2015
Angers' fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Arras (0-4) 71-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Angers. Arras managed to win second period 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Angers outrebounded Arras 44-33 including 30 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by Canadian forward Lizanne Murphy (185-84, college: Hofstra) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and American-Lithuanian forward Sofija Aleksandravicius (196-91, college: Davidson, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four Angers players scored in double figures. Angers' coach David Girandiere used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds by Dutch forward Chatilla Van Grinsven (190-89, college: St.Joseph's, agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for Arras. American swingman Brooque Williams (175-89, college: California, PA, agency: Two Points) added 13 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Angers (1-3) left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with Toulouse and Lyon. It was Arras' fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. They share the position with COB Calais. Angers will meet league's leader Nice on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Arras will play against Lyon (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
