The game in Cambados was also quite interesting. Moron (3-0) played at the court of Cambados (1-2). Moron managed to secure a 4-point victory 81-77 on Saturday. Cambados trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 25-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 77-81 at the end of the game. Moron dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Cambados' 34. They outrebounded Cambados 42-27 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Jose Maria Morales (205-89) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Alejandro Marin (190-88) accounted for 15 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Moron players scored in double figures. Moron's coach Javier Fijo used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Cape Verdean-Portuguese forward Joel Almeida (195-85, college: Brockport St.) came up with 25 points and 6 rebounds and American-Irish forward Mike Callaghan (195, college: Wesleyan) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Cambados in the defeat. Moron will meet at home Blancos de Rueda (#12) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Cambados will play against Sammic ISB (#5) in Azpeitia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
