The game between closely ranked teams ended with bottom-ranked Saitama Broncos' (0-5) home loss to tenth ranked Shinshu BW (1-2) 42-83 on Saturday. The game without a history. Shinshu BW led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Saitama Broncos to just 4 points in first quarter. Shinshu BW held Saitama Broncos to an opponent 23.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 49.3 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Saitama Broncos 49-32 including a 41-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Jeffrey Crockett (201-91, college: Texas Tech) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Michael Bell (206-82, college: Florida Atlantic) chipped in 9 points, 15 rebounds and 5 blocks. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Forward Du'Vaughn Maxwell (201-91, college: Hampton) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Paul Butorac (208-83, college: E.Washington) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shinshu BW left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with Aomori Watts. It was Saitama Broncos' fifth loss in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Shinshu BW will have a break next round. Saitama Broncos will play again at home against Shinshu BW (#10) and hope to get finally their first victory.
