Regular Season Round 3: ViVe - Honka 81-56

The biggest surprise of round 3 in SM-sarja took place in Vimpeli where host ViVe (3-0) crushed Tapiolan Honka (2-1) 81-56 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 41-14 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. ViVe dominated on the defensive end, holding Tapiolan Honka to just 5 points in fourth quarter and to 14 points in second half. They outrebounded Tapiolan Honka 52-33 including 19 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American swingman Lele Hardy (182-88, college: Clemson) who had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds. Her fellow American import forward Alexyz Vaioletama (185-93, college: USC) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was international swingman Heta Korpivaara (185-84, college: Seton Hall, agency: Regeneracom Sports) who recorded 15 points and 8 rebounds and international forward Dionne Pounds (174-84, college: Lamar, agency: Regeneracom Sports) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Tapiolan Honka will play next round against Pyrinto trying to make it back to the top of the standings. ViVe will try to continue on its current victory against Catz Lappeenranta on the road.
