Regular Season Round 3: Gniezno - Gimbasket WRC 58-74

Gniezno was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Wroclaw 74-58 on Saturday night. Gimbasket WRC dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Gniezno's 24. They outrebounded Gniezno 40-21 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for swingman Bartosz Zajac (195-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Jakub Wajerowski (198-94) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Forward Dariusz Dobrzycki (193-84) answered with 8 points and 9 rebounds and guard Piotr Golasinski (187-86) added 12 points in the effort for Gniezno. Gniezno's coach Arkadiusz Konowalski rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Gimbasket WRC will face Miedzychod (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gniezno will play against Rawia (#4) in Rawicz and hopes to get finally their first victory.
