Regular Season Round 2: Bologna - La Spezia 55-70

Quite upsetting was Bologna's 15-point home defeat in a game versus La Spezia 70-55. The game was mostly controlled by La Spezia. Bologna managed to win fourth quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Bologna 41-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was swingman Marta Granzotto (175-92) who scored 25 points and 7 rebounds. Latvian power forward Lauma Reke (185-86, college: St.Peter's) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Power forward Chiara Cadoni (182-94) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and guard Chiara Mini (165-86) added 10 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. La Spezia will meet at home Civitanova in the next round where they are favorite. Bologna will play against Viterbo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
