Regular Season Round 1: Rustavi - Sokhumi 60-80

An interesting game was also a 20-point tough home loss of Energy Invest in a game in Rustavi versus undefeated Sokhumi (#7) 80-60. The game was mostly controlled by Sokhumi. Energy Invest managed to win fourth quarter 20-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sokhumi forced 21 Energy Invest turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Matt Glover (196-91, college: USF) nailed 15 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals for the winning side and his fellow American import point guard Phillip Miller (185-91, college: Wiley) accounted for 15 points and 6 assists. Five Sokhumi players scored in double figures. Serbian forward Nikola Gacesa (206-87, college: TCU) came up with 17 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Revaz Chachanidze (183-90) added 12 points respectively for Energy Invest in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sokhumi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Olimpi.
