Regular Season Round 5: Kongsberg - Nidaros Jets 77-74

Bottom-ranked Nidaros Jets (0-3) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 77-74 loss to eighth ranked Kongsberg (2-2) in Kongsberg. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Nidaros Jets won third quarter 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Nidaros Jets outrebounded Kongsberg 43-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. American guard Aareon Smith (193-93, college: Mo.-St.Louis) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. His fellow American import guard Brandon Boggs (196-92, college: W.Carolina) contributed with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American swingman Decorey Jones (201-90, college: Faulkner) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and Kenyan Earl Simba (204-92) added 7 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Nidaros Jets. Kongsberg moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Baerum Basket and Froya Basket. Nidaros Jets at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Eidsvoll. Kongsberg will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nidaros Jets will play on the road against Eidsvoll (#10) in Oslo and hope to get finally their first victory.
