Regular Season Round 2: Hapoel J-M - Hapoel Holon 89-73

The biggest surprise of round 2 in Winner League took place in Jerusalem where host Hapoel Jerusalem (2-0) beat Hapoel Holon (1-1) 89-73 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 89-73. It was a great shooting night for Hapoel Jerusalem especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Bar Timor (190-92, agency: Avi Zilberman) who scored 22 points. American-Venezuelan Donta Smith (201-83, college: SE Illinois JC) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Five Hapoel Jerusalem players scored in double figures. Hapoel Jerusalem's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) produced 20 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Mike Moser (203-90, college: Oregon, agency: Pensack Sports) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Hapoel Holon will play next round against Maccabi Ashdod trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Hapoel Jerusalem will try to continue on its current victory against Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv.
