Regular Season Round 7: Fukuoka Rizing - Shiga L-Stars 67-66

There was a small surprise when fourth ranked Fukuoka Rizing (4-2) edged at home much higher ranked Shiga L-Stars (4-2) 67-66 on Saturday. Shiga L-Stars trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 27-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 66-67 at the end of the game. Fukuoka Rizing dominated on the defensive end, holding Shiga L-Stars to just 7 points in first quarter. American forward Bingo Merriex (206-80, college: TCU) fired a double-double by scoring 11 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. His fellow American import forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Kejuan Johnson (193-85, college: Long Beach St., agency: Inception Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Yu Okada (184-83) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Fukuoka Rizing moved-up to second place, which they share with Takamatsu FA and Shiga L-Stars. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
