Regular Season Round 5: Telge - Akropol 91-52

Bottom-ranked Akropol (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 91-52 loss to third ranked Telge (5-1) in Telge. The game without a history. Telge led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Akropol's 34 and made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Telge forced 26 Akropol turnovers and outrebounded them 44-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. American guard Taneisha Harrison (182-89, college: Pittsburgh) nailed 23 points and 5 assists for the winning side and forward Ellen Astrom (170-96) accounted for 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Hanna Isaksson (191-90) came up with 8 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Katarina Milenkovic (182-91) added 14 points respectively for Akropol in the defeat. Akropol's coach Jonny Ishak gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Telge maintains third place with 5-1 record behind leader Udominate. Akropol lost their fourth game in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Telge's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Lulea Basket on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Akropol will play against Visby Ladies (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
