Regular Season Round 4: Le Havre - Orleans 72-93
Date: October 17, 2015
Rather predictable result when fourteenth ranked Entente Orleans 45 (2-2) smashed on the road bottom-ranked STB Le Havre (0-4) 93-72 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-72. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Senegalese forward Antoine Mendy (198-83) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and Canadian-Trinidad and Tobago Kris Joseph (201-88, college: Syracuse) who added 16 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Entente Orleans 45 players scored in double figures. Entente Orleans 45's coach Pierre Vincent felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side Puerto Rican swingman Angel Daniel Vassallo (198-86, college: Virginia Tech) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Entente Orleans 45 moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser STB Le Havre still closes the standings with four games lost. Entente Orleans 45 will face Cholet Basket (#13) at home in the next round where they are favorite. STB Le Havre will play against Strasbourg IG and hopes to get finally their first victory.
