Regular Season Round 3: Fujitsu RW - Aishin AW 80-52

Round 3 most important game was a defeat of Aishin Wings (2-1). They were crushed by Fujitsu RW (2-1) 80-52 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-52. Fujitsu RW dominated on the defensive end, holding Aishin Wings to just 7 points in second quarter. Strangely Aishin Wings outrebounded Fujitsu RW 43-30 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for international point guard Rui Machida (161-93) who led her team to a victory scoring 18 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. International forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) helped adding 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Fujitsu RW players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Koizumi Haruka (164-89) with 10 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Kyoko Hamaguchi (181-90) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aishin Wings will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest. Fujitsu RW will try to continue on its current victory against Aishin Wings in Anjo.
