Regular Season Round 8: Saitama Bron. - Shinshu BW 66-83

Bottom-ranked Saitama Broncos is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to tenth ranked Shinshu BW (2-2) 83-66. The game was mostly controlled by Shinshu BW. Saitama Broncos was better in third quarter 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Saitama Broncos 41-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. Shinshu BW players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Marcus Cousin (211-86, college: Houston) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. The other American import forward Jeffrey Crockett (201-91, college: Texas Tech) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Five Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. American power forward Paul Butorac (208-83, college: E.Washington) produced 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Mitsuhiro Kamezaki (189-86) added 20 points respectively for the hosts. Saitama Broncos' coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Shinshu BW moved-up to eighth place. Saitama Broncos at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Shinshu BW's next round opponent will be Iwate Big Bulls (#9) at home. Saitama Broncos will play against Tokyo Cinq R. and hope to get finally their first victory.
