There was a minor upset when Olimpico 64 (1-2) lost to IF Air Europa (1-2) in S'Arenal 56-71 on Sunday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when IF Air Europa's pressure prevailed and they won that period 22-10 extending their advantage to 15 points. IF Air Europa outrebounded Olimpico 64 40-18 including a 28-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American center Kelsey Simon (188-92, college: Miami, OH) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Cameroonian Ramses Lonlack-Nimpa (172-89, college: Memphis) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Five IF Air Europa players scored in double figures. Forward Irene San Roman (177-92) answered with 20 points and Beatriz Parada (179-86) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Olimpico 64. IF Air Europa will face Picken Claret (#4) in Valencia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
