Regular Season Round 5: Lobas - Helsingborg 61-78

There was a surprise result in Lomma where tenth ranked Helsingborg (2-4) beat higher ranked Lobas (2-4) 78-61 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Helsingborg. Lobas was better in third quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Helsingborg especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Helsingborg made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was swingman Simon Birgander (207-97) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 blocks. Guard Casper Silfver (186-95) chipped in 22 points. Four Helsingborg players scored in double figures. Martin Nilsson (-92) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 21 rebounds and guard Jesper Wennerholm (188-96) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Lobas' coach Jorgen Lillieholm tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Helsingborg moved-up to sixth place, which they share with defeated Lobas. Helsingborg will face Trelleborg (#8) on the road in the next round.
