Regular Season Round 2: Iberostar Tener. - Andorra 81-83

A very interesting game took place in Tenerife. It ended with only two-point home defeat of CB Canarias (0-2) to Andorra (1-1) 83-81 on Sunday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 27-20. But CB Canarias won second period 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cape Verdean-Portuguese Joao Gomes (201-85) notched 21 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and Georgian center Giorgi Shermadini (216-89) supported him with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Even 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists by forward Javier Beiran (200-87) did not help to save the game for CB Canarias. The former international center Xavier Rey (210-87) added 14 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Four Andorra and five CB Canarias players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Andorra's next round opponent will be La Bruixa d'Or in Manresa and are hoping to win another game. CB Canarias will play on the road against Real Madrid and hope to win that game.
