Very significant was Tuscany Pistoia's (#3) 20-point road victory against Dolomiti En. TR 74-54. It looked good early as Dolomiti En. TR took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Tuscany Pistoia had a 25-8 second period charge getting the lead and Dolomiti En. TR was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 54-74. It was an exceptional evening for American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. The former international swingman Michele Antonutti (202-86) accounted for 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Tuscany Pistoia players scored in double figures. American power forward Julian Wright (203-87, college: Kansas, agency: Alti Sport) came up with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and international forward Davide Pascolo (201-90) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Dolomiti En. TR in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tuscany Pistoia will play against Scandone AV (#12) in Avellino in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Dolomiti En. TR will play on the road against Enel Brindisi (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
