Regular Season Round 2: Broni - Milano 84-52

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Milano (1-1) on the court of Broni on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Broni 84-52. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-52. Broni dominated on the defensive end, holding Milano to just 6 points in third quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Milano's 36. They outrebounded Milano 38-24 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Broni looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Milano's players. Estonian power forward Maaja Bratka (190-92, agency: LBM Management) scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Virginia Galbiati (173-92, agency: SPORTlab Agency) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Broni players scored in double figures. British-Portuguese center Lavinia Da Silva (186-88) responded with 13 points and 5 rebounds and forward Martina Picotti (184-90) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Milano's coach Franz Pinotti gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Broni are looking forward to face Scrivia on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Milano will play against Vicenza and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
