Regular Season Round 2: Gorizont - RGUOR 75-53

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Minsk: Gorizont and RGUOR. Gorizont (1-0) smashed visiting RGUOR (0-2) by 22 points 75-53. The game without a history. Gorizont led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding RGUOR to just 7 points in third quarter. Gorizont dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to RGUOR's 28. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by RGUOR's players. Center Olga Vashkevich (189-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points and 7 rebounds. Ukrainian center Miriam Uro-Nile (188-94, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Coach Nataliya Trafimava's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Power forward Hanna Lapo (188-97) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds and guard Ksenia Malashko (173-0) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for RGUOR. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gorizont will play against Sozh-GGU in Gomel in the next round. RGUOR's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Minsk Tsmoki-Minsk.
