Regular Season Round 9: Quilmes MP - San Lorenzo 79-88

Date: October 22, 2015
Not a big story in a game in Mar del Plata where 9th ranked Quilmes MP (1-7) was defeated by leader CASLA (8-0) 88-79 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 44-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. International guard Nicolas Aguirre (188-88) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and the former international forward Walter Herrmann (206-79) chipped in 27 points and 6 rebounds. Four CASLA players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Walter Baxley (193-84, college: Mars Hill, agency: Interperformances) with 27 points and power forward Fernando Calvi (200-81) scored 14 points. Quilmes MP's coach Leandro Ramella let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. CASLA have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Newly promoted CASLA maintains first place with 8-0 record. Loser Quilmes MP keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. CASLA will face Bahia Basket (#3) in Bahia Blanca in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Quilmes MP will play on the road against GECR Indalo (#4) in Comodoro R. and hope to win that game.
