Regular Season Round 6: MUKS Poznan - Polkowice 74-81

There was no surprise when 11th ranked MUKS Poznan (1-5) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Polkowice (4-2) 81-74 on Saturday. MUKS Poznan was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 23-13 charge of Polkowice, which allowed them to win the game. They made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game. Polkowice outrebounded MUKS Poznan 44-19 including a 15-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. MUKS Poznan was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Nicole Michael (188-87, college: Syracuse, agency: Two Points) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. Serbian guard Miljana Bojovic (181-87) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Polkowice players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Renee Taylor (158-85, college: Miami, FL) who recorded 40 points (!!!) and international Agnieszka Skobel (180-89) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Polkowice have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Gdynia and Sleza Wroclaw. Newly promoted MUKS Poznan dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Polkowice will face AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski (#7) in Gorzow Wlkp. in the next round. MUKS Poznan will play on the road against MKK Siedlce and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
