The game in Belfast was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Killester (3-1) played at the court of 8th ranked Belfast Star (1-3). Killester defeated Belfast Star 69-59 on Saturday. Killester dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Belfast Star's 32. Killester had a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by forward Alan Casey (191-89) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized American forward Jermaine Turner (195-74, college: Dowling) supported him with 15 points and 18 rebounds. Killester's coach Brian O'Malley used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 14 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists by American guard Shawn Vanzant (185-88, college: Butler) did not help to save the game for Belfast Star. Guard Paddy McGaharan (188-89) added 13 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Killester moved-up to second place, which they share with UCD Marian and UCC Demons. Loser Belfast Star dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Moycullen and Swords Thunder. Killester will meet league's second-placed UCC Demons in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Belfast Star will have a break next round.
