Regular Season Round 6: Contern - T71 65-71

Date: October 24, 2015
Bottom-ranked Contern (0-6) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to fifth ranked T71 (4-2) 71-65 on Saturday evening. Contern was trailing by 13 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 18-10 charge of T71, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was international swingman Denell Stephens (190-86, college: Slippery Rock, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). American forward Willis Hall (198-90, college: Charleston, agency: Court Side) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Kenny Williams (201-86, college: Angelo St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 27 points and 18 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Ravern Johnson (200-88, college: Mississippi St., agency: HMS) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Contern's coach Helge Patzak rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Basket Esch. Loser Contern still closes the standings with six games lost. T71 will meet Heffingen (#6) on the road in the next round. Contern will play against the league's second-placed Musel Pikes (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
