Regular Season Round 4: Basket Pila - Kotwica 57-112

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Basket Pila (0-4) was rolled over at home by fifth ranked Kotwica (3-1) 112-57 on Saturday. Kotwica dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Basket Pila's 26 and made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Kotwica forced 28 Basket Pila turnovers and outrebounded them 36-24 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Pawel Pawlowski (196-82) who helped to win the game recording 22 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and Grzegorz Arabas (191-78, agency: Promotex) who added 19 points during the contest. Four Kotwica players scored in double figures. At the losing side Kamil Michalski (200-94) responded with 10 points and 5 rebounds and forward Marcin Zajac (192-90) scored 8 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kotwica have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group A, which they share with Asseco II and Koscian. Loser Basket Pila still closes the standings with four games lost. Kotwica will face league's leader AZS UMK Torun at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Basket Pila will play against Asseco II (#4) in Gdynia and hopes to get finally their first victory.
