Regular Season Round 4: Shanxi - Liaoning 68-67

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Shanxi Rui Flame (2-2) edged higher ranked Liaoning Hengye (2-2) in Taiyuan 68-67 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Quite impressive performance for Australian forward Penny Taylor (185-81) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 4 assists. International center Hongpin Huang (196-89) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American center Kara Braxton (198-83, college: Georgia) replied with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and guard TingTing Wang (175-91) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Liaoning Hengye. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Liaoning Hengye. Shanxi Rui Flame will face Heilongjiang Chenneng (#10) in Harbin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Liaoning Hengye will play against Xinjiang (#12) and hope to win that game.
