Regular Season Round 3: San Pietro - Brindisi 69-40

Everything went according to plan when San Pietro (2-1) outleveled at home Brindisi (0-3) 69-40 on Saturday. The game without a history. San Pietro led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Brindisi to just 6 points in third and fourth quarters. San Pietro dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Brindisi's 20. San Pietro forced 32 Brindisi turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Federica Brunetti (184-88, agency: Players Group) who scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Mariella Santucci (178-97) chipped in 14 points and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international swingman Valentina Siccardi (182-82) who recorded 11 points and 7 rebounds and Spanish center Deborah Rodriguez (187-89) added 8 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. San Pietro will face Civitanova (#9) in Civitanova Marche in the next round. Brindisi will play at home against Salerno (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
