Regular Season Round 5: Clavijo - TAKE Tolosa 64-76

There was a surprise result in Logrono where twelfth ranked TAKE Tolosa (1-1) beat second-ranked Clavijo (1-1) 76-64 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Forward Jon Azaldegi (190-91) stepped up and scored 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and guard Lander Lasa (193-88) chipped in 13 points. point guard Brais Gago (180-96) responded with 15 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and forward Daniel Lopez Villanueva (195-89) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. TAKE Tolosa left bottom position moving up to fourth place in Group A-A, which they share with 7 other teams including defeated Clavijo. TAKE Tolosa will face Burgos (#8) at home in the next round. Clavijo will play against Valladolid Univ. (#7) and hope to win that game.
