There was a surprise result when seventeenth ranked Scafati Cesarano (1-4) defeated at home higher ranked Roma S.Azzurra (2-3) 79-63 on Saturday. Guard Ernesto Carrichiello (195-84) stepped up and scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and naturalized Croatian forward Marko Mlinar (200-83) chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds. Center Tommaso Guariglia (206-97, agency: SPORTlab Agency) responded with 12 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian swingman Stefan Nikolic (198-97) scored 12 points. Roma S.Azzurra's coach Mario D'Arcangeli rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Scafati Cesarano left bottom position moving up to fourteenth place in B, which they share with Battaglia and Fiorentina. Loser Roma S.Azzurra dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. Scafati Cesarano will face higher ranked Scauri (#10) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
