Regular Season Round 7: Nidaros Jets - Ammerud Bskt 85-78

There was a change at the BLNO leadership position after last games. Round 7 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Ammerud Bskt (4-1). They were defeated by ninth ranked Nidaros Jets (2-3) 85-78 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Ammerud Bskt. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 24-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. They outrebounded Ammerud Bskt 49-30 including a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for guard Even Skjellaug (195-95) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds. Australian guard Luke Jenkinson (188-75) helped adding 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side American-Somalian point guard Zaki Ise Mohamed (183-87, college: New Hampshire) responded with 31 points and American forward Ronald Timus (196-84, college: Morgan St.) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Nidaros Jets moved-up to eighth place. Ammerud Bskt at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Tromso. Ammerud Bskt will play next round against Centrum trying to make it back to the top of the standings. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Oslo - Centrum. Nidaros Jets will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Froya Basket in Laksevag.
