Round 7 in SBL means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Komarno where host Rieker KN (5-2) beat league's leader Slavia Kosice (5-2) 67-60 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Slavia Kosice. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Filipino point guard Isiah Umipig (183-92, college: Seattle) fired 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. Nigerian-American forward P.J. Alawoya (203-88, college: McNeese St., agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Alawoya is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American power forward Reggie Keely (202-91, college: Ohio, agency: Mansfield and Associates) produced 15 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian point guard Sasa Avramovic (193-93, agency: Beo Basket) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Rieker KN have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Slavia Kosice. Slavia Kosice will play next round against Karlovka trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Rieker KN will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
