Regular Season Round 5: Medacbasket - Cazorla 76-53

Everything went according to plan in Malaag where leader Medacbasket (2-0) outscored bottom-ranked Cazorla (0-2) 76-53 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Medacbasket. Cazorla was better in fourth quarter 12-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cazorla was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Ignacio Molina (188-93) stepped up and scored 13 points for the winners and forward Pablo Ibanez (198-93) chipped in 17 points. Senegalese Diop Mouhamadou (-83) responded with 12 points and 7 rebounds and forward Pedro Farina (198-92, college: South Plains JC) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Medacbasket keeps a position of Group D-East leader, which they share with Coin and Velez. Loser Cazorla still closes the standings with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
