We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Katowice where bottom-ranked AZS AWF M. II (0-3) was defeated by eleventh ranked Alba Chorzow (1-3) 81-72 on Saturday. Alba Chorzow forced 19 AZS AWF M. II turnovers. AZS AWF M. II was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Dawid Weiss (188-88) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and power forward Marcin Weselak (204-79) who added 11 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Four Alba Chorzow players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Michal Kozak (179-92) responded with 19 points and swingman Norbert Kujon (194-92) scored 11 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Alba Chorzow left bottom position moving up to ninth place in Group C, which they share with Wisla Krakow. Loser AZS AWF M. II still closes the standings with three games lost. Alba Chorzow will face league's leader AZS AGH Alstom in Krakow in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. AZS AWF M. II will play on the road against the league's second-placed Polonia Bytom (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
