Regular Season Round 5: Igualada - Andorra II 65-84

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Andorra II and 7th ranked Igualada had identical 2-2 record. But Igualada was not able to use a home court advantage and was crushed by the opponent from Andorra 84-65 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Andorra II led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 65.9 percent from the field. Andorra II had a 26-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Igualada was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Senegalese center Wally Niang (206-96) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners and Nil Bria (195-97) chipped in 18 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Andorra II players scored in double figures. Center Eduard Tejero (-92) responded with 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Albert Del Hoyo (192-92) scored 9 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Andorra II (3-2) moved-up to second place in Group C-B, which they share with Castellbisbal and Miramar. Newly promoted Igualada dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Andorra II will face Castelldefels (#6) at home in the next round. Igualada will play against Martorell and hope to win that game.
