Regular Season Round 7: IK Eos - Eskilstuna 62-69

The game between Top Four teams took place in Lund. 3rd placed host IK Eos (5-1) lost to second ranked Eskilstuna (6-1) 69-62. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of IK Eos. It looked good early as IK Eos took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Eskilstuna took control getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and eventually winning the game that evening by 7 points. Eskilstuna made 21-of-25 charity shots (84.0 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by IK Eos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Hannes Widell (183-94) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!). British-Cameroonian forward Franck Kouagnia (201-89) contributed with 8 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. point guard Adnan Karovic (188-88) answered with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and center David Hult (204-89) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for IK Eos. IK Eos' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Eskilstuna. They maintain second place with 6-1 record having just -3 point less than leader Hogsbo which they share with defeated IK Eos. IK Eos at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. Eskilstuna's next round opponent will be league's leader Hogsbo in Goteborg and it will be for sure the game of the week. IK Eos will play on the road against Wetterbygden in Huskvarna and hope to win that game.
