Regular Season Round 3: Hapoel Holon - Maccabi Ashdod 76-67

Very expected game when Maccabi Ashdod (0-3) lost on the road to Hapoel Holon (2-1) 76-67 on Saturday. Hapoel Holon dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Maccabi Ashdod's 36. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) who led the winners and scored 17 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import power forward Jeremis Smith (203-86, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Pro Sports) accounted for 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. American point guard Diante Garrett (196-88, college: Iowa St.) came up with 19 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and naturalized Swedish power forward Jonathan Skjoldebrand (204-83, agency: Ronsport) added 11 points respectively for Maccabi Ashdod in the defeat. Maccabi Ashdod's coach Zvi Sherf rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hapoel Holon will meet at home Maccabi T-A (#5) in the next round. Maccabi Ashdod will play against Hapoel Eilat (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
