Regular Season Round 10: Quimsa - La Union 83-75

Rather expected game in Santiado Estero where 8th ranked La Union (3-8) was defeated by fifth ranked Quimsa (6-6) 83-75 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Quimsa made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. The former international forward Nicolas Romano (200-87) fired 23 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Italian center Damian Tintorelli (204-81) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. American swingman Winsome Frazier (193-82, college: Mississippi St., agency: Interperformances) produced 24 points and his fellow American import forward Curtis Withers (203-84, college: Charlotte) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Quimsa and four La Union players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Quimsa went down to sixth position due to points difference. La Union lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with eight games lost. Quimsa will face Instituto C. (#7) in Cordoba in the next round. La Union will play at home against the league's leader Libertad Sunchales and hope to win that game.
