Regular Season Round 3: Anwil - PGE Turow 87-84 OT

Anwil edged PGE Turow in Wloclawek 87-84 in overtime. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-18. But PGE Turow won second period 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where PGE Turow used huge pressure winning it 17-16 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 7-10. Anwil forced 20 PGE Turow turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by PGE Turow helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for Czech swingman David Jelinek (196-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 39 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. The former international point guard Robert Skibniewski (182-83) helped adding 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was Australian-Trinidad and Tobago guard Daniel Dillon (193-86, college: Arizona) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian point guard Jovan Novak (187-94) scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Four PGE Turow players scored in double figures. PGE Turow will play next round against Rosa trying to get back on the winning streak. Anwil will try to continue on its current victory against MKS Dabrowa Gornicza on the road.
