We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when seventh ranked Forssan Alku (2-3) beat 6th ranked Aanekosken (1-3) in Aanekoski 72-63 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-15. But Aanekosken won second period 17-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Forssan Alku won last quarter 21-13. They also forced 21 Aanekosken turnovers. The winners were led by American guard Candice Warthen (165-92, college: Arizona) who scored that evening 35 points (!!!) and 4 steals and the other American import guard Precious Bridges (165-92, college: Mercer) supported her with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Even 14 points and 7 rebounds by guard Noora Lakaniemi (170-93) did not help to save the game for Aanekosken. American center Kenya Robinson (182-70, college: New Orleans) added 10 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forssan Alku moved-up to sixth place. Loser Aanekosken dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Forssan Alku will meet at home Peli-Karhut (#8) in the next round. Aanekosken will play against the league's second-placed ViVe in Vimpeli and hope to win that game.
