Regular Season Round 3: Ferrara - Stabia 76-40

Ferrara used a home court advantage and outplayed the opponent from Stabia 76-40 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Ferrara. Castellammare was better in third quarter 12-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Castellammare to just 6 points in first quarter. Ferrara dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Castellammare's 22. Ferrara forced 25 Castellammare turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Marta Savelli (175-82) who scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Giulia Rulli (185-91) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Ferrara players scored in double figures. Ferrara's coach Giuliano Stibiel felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Raffaella Potolicchio (169-90) who recorded 9 points and 6 rebounds and Latvian forward Liga Vente (191-91, college: Eckerd) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Ferrara will face Viareggio (#14) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Castellammare will play against Palermo (#3) and hope to win that game.
