Regular Season Round 4: Catz - ViVe 85-61

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of ViVe (3-1) on the court of first ranked Catz Lappeenranta on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Catz Lappeenranta 85-61. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of ViVe. The game was mostly controlled by Catz Lappeenranta. ViVe managed to win fourth quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Catz Lappeenranta dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to ViVe's 26. Catz Lappeenranta forced 19 ViVe turnovers and outrebounded them 39-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jennifer Schlott (168-91, college: Utah St., agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 4 assists. Russian forward Elena Reshetko (184-86) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Catz Lappeenranta players scored in double figures. American forward Alexyz Vaioletama (185-93, college: USC) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds and her fellow American import swingman Lele Hardy (182-88, college: Clemson) added 18 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for ViVe. ViVe's coach Jarkko Havu gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Catz Lappeenranta have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 5-1 record. ViVe at the other side keeps the second place with one game lost. They share the position with HyPo and Honka. Catz Lappeenranta are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Pyrinto (#9) in Tampere in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ViVe will play at home against Aanekosken (#7) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
