Regular Season Round 4: PeKa - HyPo 75-85

Date: October 24, 2015
Bottom-ranked Peli-Karhut is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their third consecutive match to fifth ranked HyPo (3-1) 85-75 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by HyPo. Peli-Karhut managed to win third quarter 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when HyPo won last quarter 26-17. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American guard Bria Goss (178-92, college: Kentucky, agency: Merit Management Group) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 27 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international forward Anni Makitalo (175-91) supported her with 13 points and 6 rebounds. HyPo's coach Tero Niskanen used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 25 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Dominique Mosley (182, college: Missouri So.) did not help to save the game for Peli-Karhut. Her fellow American import guard Lexie Nelson (168, college: E.Washington) added 19 points for lost side. HyPo have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Honka and ViVe. Loser Peli-Karhut still closes the standings with three games lost. HyPo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Peli-Karhut will play against Forssan Alku (#6) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
