Regular Season Round 3: Sozh-GGU - Gorizont 44-93

The game in Gomel supposed to be also worth to mention about. Gorizont (2-0) played at the court of Sozh-GGU (1-2). Gorizont smashed Sozh-GGU 93-44. The game without a history. Gorizont led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Sozh-GGU's 26. Gorizont forced 29 Sozh-GGU turnovers and outrebounded them 37-16 including a 23-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 3 passes made by Sozh-GGU's players. It was a great evening for Ukrainian center Miriam Uro-Nile (188-94, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory scoring 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). The former international forward Yuliya Rytsikava (182-86) helped adding 18 points and 4 assists. Four Gorizont players scored in double figures. Coach Nataliya Trafimava's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was guard Ekaterina Charikova (174-82) with 12 points and 5 rebounds and Katsiaryna Nialepka (178-93) scored 14 points. Gorizont's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Minsk Gorizont II.
