WJBL round 5 caused change at the leadership position. First defeat of league's leader Toyota B SR (4-1) against second ranked Chanson V-M (4-1) 83-55 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Toyota B SR. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Chanson V-M led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Chanson V-M especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Toyota B SR's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Chanson V-M made 7 blocks. International forward Sanae Motokawa (175-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. Center Miyuki Kawamura (183-94) contributed with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Chanson V-M players scored in double figures. Center Eri Hatanaka (178-91) answered with 14 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Sari Osabe (174-87) added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Toyota B SR. Toyota B SR's coach Fumikazu Nakagawa gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Chanson V-M have a solid series of four victories in a row.
