Regular Season Round 5: Castelldefels - Santfeliuenc 47-67

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Santfeliuenc (2-3) smashed on the road higher ranked Castelldefels (2-3) 67-47 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Santfeliuenc. Castelldefels was better in second period 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Santfeliuenc dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Castelldefels' 22. Guard Xavier Guirao (190-87) stepped up and scored 20 points for the winners and forward Alberto Farfan (193-91) chipped in 12 points. Four Santfeliuenc players scored in double figures. Guard Marc Sese (188-93) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and guard David Avila (182-95) scored 8 points. Castelldefels' coach Boris Balibrea rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Santfeliuenc moved-up to fifth place in Group C-B, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Castelldefels. Santfeliuenc will face Pardinyes-L. (#10) in Lleida in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Castelldefels will play on the road against the league's second-placed Andorra II (#2) and hope to win that game.
