Regular Season Round 3: Estudiantes - Valencia 73-81

Very expected game when Asefa Estudiantes (0-3) lost to Valencia Basket (3-0) in Madrid 73-81 on Sunday. Asefa Estudiantes trailed by 17 points at halftime and as many as 23 after three quarters before a 26-11 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 73-81 at the end of the game. It was a good game for the former international guard Rafael Martinez (190-82) who led his team to a victory with 21 points. Montenegrin Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Nacho Martin (203-83) answered with 14 points and 8 rebounds and forward Juancho Hernangomez (198-95) added 14 points and 7 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) in the effort for Asefa Estudiantes. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Valencia Basket will face Blusens Monbus (#9) in Santoago de Comp in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Asefa Estudiantes will play on the road against CB Canarias (#16) in Tenerife and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
