Regular Season Round 3: SEQ - Adelaide 104-74

No shocking result in a game when SEQ (3-1) crushed Adelaide Lightning (0-4) in Crestmead 104-74 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by SEQ. Adelaide Lightning managed to win third quarter 25-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for Nigerian-American Ify Ibekwe (187-89, college: Arizona, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Lauren Mansfield (170-89, college: Iowa St.) accounted for 15 points and 8 assists for the winning side. Five SEQ players scored in double figures. American forward Mikaela Ruef (190-90, college: Stanford) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists and international point guard Leilani Mitchell (165-85, college: Utah, agency: LBM Management) added 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Adelaide Lightning in the defeat. Adelaide Lightning's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. SEQ will meet at home Sydney Uni Flames (#4) in the next round. Adelaide Lightning will play against Bendigo Spirit (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
