Trenkwalder RE (3-1) recorded its first loss in Capo d'Orlando on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked Betaland CdO (3-1) 68-62. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Trenkwalder RE. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-17. But Trenkwalder RE won second period 15-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Betaland CdO looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American power forward Alex Oriakhi (208-90, college: Connecticut) fired a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Georgian Nika Metreveli (211-91) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Belarusian-Russian forward Vladimir Veremeenko (208-84) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and international Amedeo Della Valle (192-93, college: Ohio St., agency: SPORTlab Agency) added 16 points and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Four Trenkwalder RE players scored in double figures. Betaland CdO moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Trenkwalder RE. Betaland CdO is looking forward to face Cimberio Varese (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Trenkwalder RE will play against VL Pesaro (#16) and is hoping to win this game.
